1.000 2012 Birmingham Seaholm HS, MI

  1. (tie) .9927 Seaholm HS, Birmingham, MI

Head Coach: Jeff Devantier (NHSCA Girls National Coach of the Year); Entering the Michigan State Championships against US#1 Grosse Pointe South HS, MI; Seaholm rose to the occasion with a monumental historic effort. The greatest field in over 25-years at the state meet featured three top 10 ranked national teams. Seaholm won in the 3rd fastest team time ever 18:19 behind a masterful 36.9 second 1-5 spread. The only two faster in history were 2000 National Champions Rockford 17:57 and 2012 Grosse Pointe South 18:18. This team produced the 3rd best NHSCA team power score ever (.9927), the only better were '09 F-M (.9970) and '10 F-M (.9999).The team was prepared to compete and registered for NXN Midwest but NXN leaders stepped in and stopped them from competing. In a masterful story the team declares "We are in Noone's Shadow" Seaholm Team: Aubrey Wilberding, Tess Wilberding, Marissa Dobry, Rachel Dadamio, Audrey Belf, Julia Demko, Danielle Bentzley.

  1. (tie) .9927 Fayetteville Manlius HS, Manlius, NY

Head Coach Bill Aris; Bill Aris team won their 7th straight NXN team championship, by over 140 points! One of the great programs in US history has redefined girls prep distance running success. Winners of NXN New York with an 18:52 team average (faster than last season) with a masterful 13-second 1-5 spread. Then dominated NXN with a 37-second 1-5 spread and all five scorers in the top 20! This team produced the 3rd best NHSCA team power score ever (.9927), the only better were '09 F-M (.9970) and '10 F-M (.9999). It should be noted that while Manlius clearly dominated the season they also lost the Eastern States Championship for the first time in 7-years to US#10 Tatnall at the Manhattan Invitational while running without Jillian Fanning. Manlius Team: Jillian Fanning, Jillian Barger, Katie Brislin, Alana Pearl, Jenna Farrell, Annika Avery, Michelle Duffy.

  3. .9894 Grosse Pointe South HS, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Head Coach Steve Zaranek; The Michigan juggernaut was ranked #1 in the nation heading into their state championships. Running the second best team performance in state history wasn't enough however but it was enough to garner a US#3 final team ranking. Ran US#20 all-time 5k team average 18:08 @ Region 8-1 Championships. This team featured the top four 3200 meter runners in US history on one team who also set the NFHS 4x800m national record and were defending Distance Medley and 3200M Relay National Champions. Grosse Pointe South Team: Hannah Meier, Ersula Farrow, Kelsie Schwartz, Haley Meier, Mary Spencer, Christina Firl, Megan Sklarski.

  4. .9791 Southlake Carroll HS, Southlake, TX

Head Coach Justin Leonard; We believe this team to be the best team EVER from the Lone Star State. US#3 all-time team average for 5000 meters 17:49 set @ Region I Championships. Finished 2nd @ NXN by nearly 140 points to US#1 FM. Previously won Texas State Championships with 18:11 team 5K average and another 18:11 team 5K average to win NXN South Championships. Southlake Carroll Team: Shelby Chapin, Courtney Kriegshauser, Elena Arriaza, Antigone Archer, Maddie Keen, Katie Burnham, Taylor Ullmann.

  5. .9776 Saline HS, Saline, MI

Head Coach Mike Smith; They would have won all but one Michigan State meet the previous 20-years (2000 US#1 Rockford only was better) but this years meet featured two top 10 nationally ranked teams among them a US#1. This includes multiple top 5 Harrier nationally ranked teams. Returning the entire team for next season, they have the top returning team in Michigan State history. We believe this team will come into 2013 season as a favorite to win the national team championship. Saline Team: Elianna Shwayder, Lauren Green, Gillian Walter, Gloria Park, Abby Rentschler, Hannah Cummings, Alyssa Cummings.

XCNATION USA SUPER-50 BOYS TEAM RANKINGS

*End of Season Record Score (with strength of schedule pts)*

.9860 2010 Arcadia HS, CA

*In-Season Record Score (minus strength of schedule pts)*

1.000 2012 Christian Brothers Academy HS, NJ

  1. .9848 Arcadia HS, Arcadia, CA

Head Coach Jim O'Brien; The Apaches ran all-time best 15:26 team average @ the Apache Invitational and won the CIF Southern Section Championships in a US#2 all-time team average over 3-miles 14:24! Then dominated the CIF Division I State Championships in a #2 all-time team performance 15:24 5k team average before shocking the nation claiming their second NXN team title in three years to claim the consensus #1 national championship. As far as rankings go they have finished the season with the #2 all-time team computer power score second only to the US#1 2010 Arcadia. ARCADIA TEAM: Estevan De La Rosa, Mitchell Pratt, Phillip Rocha, Mahmoud Moussa, Bryan Ngo, Jarrick Wenslow, Josua Gonzalez.

  2. .9817 American Fork HS, American Fork, UT

Head Coach Timo Mostert; The greatest team all-time from Utah and much better than any of the prior national championship Mountain View teams. Runner-up at this season NXN event led for almost the entire race until the final kilometer. Won the NXN Southwest Championships with a US#4 all-time 15:14 team average for 5000 meters and 22-second 1-5 spread. American Fork Team: Brayden Mclelland, Connor Mcmillan, Tyson Green, Zac Jacklin, Caleb Thompson, Tyler Bell, Spencer Herzog.

  3. .9769 Highland Milford HS, Highland, MI

Head Coach Brian Salyers; Only two teams from Michigan have been better, 2000 US#3 Rockford HS, MI (probably should have been ranked US#1) and 2006 US#1 Dexter HS, MI (US#3 by Harrier Magazine the week prior to NTN)...this team is phenominal running a 15:34 team average to claim the Lower Peninsula state championship. Milford Team: Brian Kettle, Cody Snavely, Chris Housel, Matt Graves, Kevin Black, Clinton Caddell, Jeffery Field.

  4. .9562 North Central HS, Spokane, WA

Head Coach Jonathan Knight; Won the WIAA State Championships with 15:47 team average for 5000 meters without top runner Kai Wilmot, then won NXN Northwest without top runner Wilmot. This team was favored as a potential upset threat at NXN and for much of the race was in contention for the team title but finished a narrow 3rd in one of the all-time team championships. North Central Team: Kai Wilmot, Tanner Anderson, Keith Williams, Oliver Reed, Austen Frostad, Isaac Kitzan, Nik Taylor.

  5. .9495 Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, NJ

Head Coach Tom Heath; The shock heard around the nation, defending national champions CBA loses NXN. Perhaps the greatest prep team in the past 100 years, CBA has rewritten the record books and yet lost the national title at NXN when many, including us, thought they were unbeatable. The first team to ever return five sub 9:15 3200 meter runners is proving this year is the best CBA team ever. Having already set the national record for team average over 5000 meters 15:08 @ Shore Conference Championships they dominated the NJ Group Championships with a Holmdel course record 16:03 team average. CBA Team: Mike McClemens, Billy Bragg, Thomas Rooney, Francis Bogan, Jack Boyle, Joshua Kruppa, Aaron Liberatore.
